Flat-Fee Financial Planning Pricing for Business Owners
We are a fee-only firm, so we don't earn commissions or charge a percentage of your investments. Working together starts with a short intro call, followed by a longer discovery call where we learn about your business, your finances, and your goals. How the Financial Strategy Sprint Works
The Sprint includes six working sessions, about once a week, over roughly 45-60 days. Each session builds on the last, so we start with your business numbers and finish with a complete plan.
Session 01
Discovery
We learn about your business, your finances, and what you want your life to look like in the next few years.
You'll leave with: A clear list of your top priorities, so the rest of the Sprint focuses on what matters most to you.
Session 02
Your Books and Financial Statements
We review your bookkeeping, walk through your financial statements in plain English, and identify the key numbers (KPIs) that drive your business.
You'll leave with: A list of issues in your books to fix, the KPIs to track each month, and where your numbers show room to improve.
Session 03
Cash Flow and Profitability
We trace where your cash goes and measure which services or products actually make you money.
You'll leave with: A clear picture of what's draining cash, which parts of your business are most profitable, and specific ideas on pricing and costs.
Session 04
Paying Yourself and Taxes
We build a plan for how much to pay yourself and how (salary vs. distribution), set a cash reserve target for your business, project your taxes, and review your S corp status or whether an S corp makes sense.
You'll leave with: A pay plan, a savings target for taxes, and a recommendation on your business structure.
Session 05
Your Personal Wealth
We review your retirement savings, investments, insurance, emergency fund, and debt, and connect them to what your business can support.
You'll leave with: A recommended retirement plan, a savings plan showing how much to save and where to keep it (from cash reserves to long-term investments like stocks), a review of your insurance coverage, and a debt payoff order.
Session 06
Your Plan
We bring everything together into a written financial plan and walk through it with you.
You'll leave with: A prioritized roadmap of what to do in the next 30, 90, and 365 days.
What a Year of Ongoing Advisory Looks Like
Ongoing Advisory follows the calendar, so the right topics come up at the right time. Every meeting covers what's happening in your business and life, plus a focus area for that part of the year.
Quarterly clients meet four times a year: January, May, August, and November.
Monthly clients meet every month with shorter meetings or written summaries during tax season.
New clients who haven't completed a Financial Strategy Sprint start by building their plan in the first few meetings, then join this calendar.
January
Close Out the Year
We review last year's results, confirm your January estimated tax payment, and gather everything needed for your tax return.
You'll leave with: A clear picture of how last year finished and a checklist of documents for tax season.
February–April
Tax Season
Scheduled meetings shorten or pause while we focus on preparing tax returns. Email support continues, and we're available for anything time-sensitive.
Advisory clients using our affiliated firm: Your return is prepared with your tax plan in hand.
May
Plan Refresh
We walk through your filed return and what it tells us, set your estimated payments for the year, and refresh your plan based on how the year is shaping up.
You'll leave with: Takeaways from your tax return, an updated estimated tax schedule, and updates to your savings, investments, and insurance where needed.
August
Mid-Year Check
We project your taxes based on your actual results so far, review cash flow and profitability, and adjust your plan if the business has changed.
You'll leave with: A mid-year tax projection, updated estimated payments, and any course corrections for the rest of the year.
November
Year-End Planning and Next Year's Goals
We look for tax-saving opportunities before the end of the year, finalize retirement contributions, review your S corp salary if you have one, and set goals for the coming year.
You'll leave with: A year-end tax action list, your 12-month goals, the KPIs we'll track, and your pay plan for next year.
Monthly Advisory Adds:
Every month, we review your financial statements, cash flow, and bookkeeping, and track your KPIs. During tax season from February through April, you'll receive a written monthly summary in place of a meeting or a shortened meeting.
You'll leave each month with: A clear read on how the business performed, what changed, and anything that needs attention.
Throughout the year:
Email support between meetings, and help with decisions as they come up, like a big purchase, a new hire, or an unexpected tax notice.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a financial advisor for business owners cost?
Fees vary by firm and pricing model. Many advisors charge a percentage of the investments they manage. We charge flat fees instead: hourly for one-time questions, a set price for the Financial Strategy Sprint, and a monthly fee for ongoing advisory.
Why flat fees instead of a percentage of assets?
A flat fee is tied to the work we do, not the size of your investment accounts. Our advice isn't influenced by how much money you move to us.
Which option is right for me?
If you have one question, start with One-Time Planning. If you want a full plan, choose the Sprint. If you want ongoing help, choose Ongoing Advisory. We'll help you decide on your intro call.
Can I start with one option and switch later?
Yes. Many clients start with One-Time Planning or a Sprint and move into Ongoing Advisory.
